The First Tongji International Medical Science Summit Held

On Oct. 29th, the 1st Tongji Hospital International Medical Science Summit was held. Over 500 participants including 100 foreign professors and experts from 20 countries attended the summit.
 
In the morning, 8 professors from America, Germany, British and China gave the presentations. President Xu Yongji from Tongji hospital introduced the cutting-edge scientific research. Prof. Joseph A. Hill, chief editor of Circulation, extended his vision for the new Circulation. Prof. Sanjiv Sam Gambhir, academician of National Academy of Sciences in America, of Stanford University expressed his opinions on precision health and future of medical diagnostics. Prof. Liu Yunyi, academician of Chinese Academy of Science from The Chinese University of Hongkong shared his experience in career path of a surgeon. After the break, Prof. Hermann Haller of Hannover Medical School talked about the novel treatment strategies for diabetic nephropathy. Associate editor of Brain Angela Vincent introduced the antibody-mediated neurological diseases. Prof. Omar Lateef from Rush University Medical Center showed the planning, preparation and treatment for Ebola. At last, Chairman George F. Hoffmann from Children’s Hospital Heidelberg displayed current status of diagnosis and patients management of rare diseases.

In the afternoon, 34 departments held the session forum to extend the further discussion on the specific disciplines.
