Hu Junbo

Deputy Party Secretary & Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission

HU Junbo, Deputy Party Secretary of Tongji Hospital,Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of Tongji Hospital. He is responsible for discipline inspection and supervision. He is in charge of Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision Section.

 

He is a CPC member, M.D., Ph.D., chief physician, second-tier professor and doctoral supervisor. He was honored HUST Excellent Scholar by HUST and Outstanding Talent of the New Century by Ministry of Education. He currently serves as committee member of the Chinese Society of Gastroenterology of CMA, Executive Director of Hubei Medical Association, Chairman-designate of Chinese Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition in Hubei, and committee member of Hubei General Surgery Society.

 

He pursued his studies at the Cancer Center, University of Maryland from 1998 to 2001. Now he is mainly dedicated to clinical research and teaching of gastrointestinal surgery. His research domain includes the mechanism of tumor invasion and metastasis and molecular targeted therapy, tumor metabolism and immunity and molecular mechanism of tumor signal transduction. He is well recognized for laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery and standard comprehensive treatment of gastric cancer and colorectal cancer, with rich clinical experience in the treatment of gastrointestinal stromal tumors. He has presided 8 projects under the National Natural Science Foundation of China and 3 sub-projects under 973 Program. He has published more than 100 papers, of which more than 50 papers being published in international journals such as Cell, Nature Medicine, Nature Cell BiologyNature Communications, PNAS, Cancer Research, Cell Death and Differentiation, and Oncogene, with more than 1500 citations.He has applied for 6 national patents as principal inventor and co-inventor, 3 of which being authorized, participated in the project "Application of Molecular Targeted Therapy for Tumor Metastasis" as one of the major participants, which has won the Second Prize in the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2012 (ranking No.4). He has been invited to be the evaluation expert of NSFC four times. He is the Associate Editor of Journal of Abdominal Surgery and the Executive Editor of Journal of Clinical Surgery, and has been invited as the reviewer of Clinical Research, Oncogene, and Nature Communications.
